Debi Davis, artist
Welcome to my website. It is my joy in life to paint and draw the beauty that I see around me daily. Sometimes my subject matter is nature, and sometimes it is a small vignette of everyday life. I enjoy the challenges of learning to make my subjects look lifelike, and so my style would be classified as realism.
After my family, my favorite things are art, horses, dogs (all animals, really!), and good music.
I hope you enjoy viewing some of my artwork here on this site. Please feel free to contact me if there is something that you would like to see me portray! All work is for sale unless otherwise noted.
I love the opportunity to do pet portraits, and am commissioned to create them regularly.

Portrait Info
When ordering a portrait, it is helpful if you consider the following:
1- What size? ( if you have a spot on the wall where you plan to hang it, consider that a pencil or pastel is usually matted when framing, which normally adds about 4-6 inches to the size of the painting. The frame may add another 2-8 inches depending on the width of the moulding chosen) An oil painting may cost more, but does not require matting, and in some cases may not even need a frame.
2- When choosing your photos, always consider the ones that strike a chord with you -- natural poses (candid shots, if you will!) sometimes make the most memorable portraits. Remember, I can fix things like red eye - or in horses, ears that are not up! I love to get information like "my favorite pose" or "this color is more true" - so send however many pics you need to.
3- Keep in mind that this is a custom order, so make sure you consider how long it may take for me to complete the work if you are planning to give this as a gift. I also can provide a gift certificate if that will work better!
4- Adding a second subject can mean another dog, or we can combine any two pets ( have even done one with a dog and a ferret!), but it can get a little tricky with more than 2, so sometimes there will need to be a private contract for these types of special needs.
5- Make sure you put your contact information on any photos you send if you want me to return them. You can also email them to me, and I will print them myself, but this can make it a little more difficult to get true colors since you can't see them after I print them.
